“The Last Generation”
a podcast that brings generations together to
have candid, unscripted conversations.
I am the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor. I had many questions for my grandma Susi, but I never had the conversation. So, I wanted to give others a platform and space to have them. In 2020, I decided to start the podcast, something I had never done before. Contacting survivors is not easy, so I found an article in the Times about a photo exhibition of survivors and contacted the person behind the project, Dinah Kramer. Without knowing me, Dinah connected me with survivors. Since our launch in 2021, we have recorded nine episodes, including one live at the Museum of Jewish Heritage: A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. Since then, I have learned to record, edit, and produce it together with Pickle NY.
It’s estimated that
42 survivors die every day*
In October 2023, we were invited to host a live episode at the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, together with Mark Schonwetter and his family. Without any media backing, the episode has garnered more than 500 views.
