Invisible creatives, an initiative to help fix the gender ratio in the advertising industry by creating the largest female creative database.

Often, male Chief Creative Officers justify their agency’s lack of female representation with the excuse, “I don’t know any female creatives.” After being part of one of the most awarded campaigns of 2018 and noticing that my male peers were receiving more job offers than I was,
I realized that perhaps many outstanding female creatives were simply unknown. So, together with another female creative, I launched Invisible Creatives.

We began with Squarespace, where I manually uploaded 400 portfolios. The demand was so high that we soon partnered with web developer Javierbianchi to create a site capable of hosting one thousand creative portfolios from 47 different countries.

Invisible Creatives celebrated the “Portfolio of the Month” each month, spotlighted female creatives behind award-winning work, and collaborated with Cannes Lions, One Show, and the 3% Conference to provide a platform for these talents. We also hosted a talk at Cannes Lions and a networking event with AdWeek to promote greater female representation at the Cannes Festival.

After four years, co-founder Senta and I decided to focus on our families, each raising two beautiful daughters.
